<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cowdenbeath-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Letter-of-3-September-2014-from-Steve-Grimmond-Fife-Council.pdf\">Letter of 3 September 2014 from Steve Grimmond, Fife Council rejecting a request to meet disabled and elderly leaders<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In our view, Fife Council should be talking with these voluntary organisations at the highest level as the loss of funding has had a significant impact on what they can do.\u00a0 We also are of the view <strong>that Fife Councillors have been misled<\/strong> about the impact of\u00a0 their decision\u00a0 on the local community.\u00a0 <strong>We believe the impact assessment should have been high and not low.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a result all those orgranisations are struggling to find alternatives.\u00a0\u00a0 Disabilities Fife is the first that will be hit\u00a0 and\u00a0 is now looking at<a title=\"Crowd funding for Disabilities Fife\" href=\"http:\/\/www.crowdfunder.co.uk\/disabilities-fifes-information-and-advice-service\/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=automated&amp;utm_campaign=projectlive_email&amp;utm_content=pledge_button\"> crowd funding.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please do support them if you can.\u00a0\u00a0 It is our view that Fife Council are treating these organisations unfairly and not providing enough support during the provision of a new Equalities Hub in Fife.\u00a0\u00a0 It is also our view that Fife Council are forcing those that are less fortunate, the blind, deaf and other disabled people and the elderly to provide the funding by the removal of their year on year funding.<\/p>\n<p>Fife Council should be finding this money from other sources\u00a0 not the voluntary sector that have been left high and dry, which have little resource to do this work.\u00a0 Leaving these organisations without sufficient monies to continue.\u00a0 Come on Fife Council, be fair to those that are less fortunate than yourself.\u00a0 You are a multi million pound organisation with over 20,000 employees.\u00a0 Surely you can provide more support?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leaders of three voluntary organisations have written jointly to the Chief Executive of Fife Council.\u00a0\u00a0 They raised concerns about the decision by Fife Council\u00a0 to no longer fund their organisations and asked for a meeting to discuss those issues.\u00a0 In a reply to those leaders , the Chairs of Disabilities Fife, Fife Elderly Forum and &hellip;
