This is a brief note to explain why we are making people aware of the Community Council Elections in 2014.<\/p>\n
Fife Council are encouraging Fifers to stand and participate in their local community councils.\u00a0 To that end we support the widening of the democratic process.\u00a0 We would also encourage people to stand for elections such as Fife Council, Scottish Parliament and the UK Parliament.\u00a0 The more variety we have the better.\u00a0 it gives the electorate more choice.<\/p>\n
Historically most but not all Community Councils just have enough people come forward to fill the majority of vacancies, and therefore there is no need for an election.<\/p>\n
But what happens say…\u00a0 if there are more candidates than vacancies?\u00a0 The solution is simple there is then an election and the people in the community decide.<\/p>\n
